I need to think again do I need CCIE??? Again the question come to my mind! Is it about money??? I don't think so. If it's about money, better I just being entrepreneur.. It's about overseas??? Maybe yes maybe no... But I think working in telecommunication make me more chance to work overseas! I think much people know and expert in Cisco!!! I think it's about my dream... By taking CCIE, I will learn so much not just Cisco... I will learn about never give up, always update knowledge, learn and share to others etc. I can be entrepreneur also by creating small company or maybe being independent consultant :) I don't know I just want to pass the exam and study about networking especially Cisco stuff...
It's enough!!! Let's back for the course.
MPLS ??? What is MPLS??? I think we can find easily about that in internet. But the question what is the advantage of MPLS:
- MPLS support multi-service. It support legacy network such frame relay, atom, L2/L3, ATM, etc
- MPLS can differentiate the service or customer. Let's say we have 5 customer in our network. By using MPLS, the different customer will not communicate each other.
- The IP address can be the same using different vrf.
- The resource of router will decrease as in MPLS using label.
In MPLS, there are 3 types router in MPLS:
- P router is provider router. It's only label switch (LSR). Only works MPLS no any MP-BGP inside P router.
- PE router is provider edge router. It works as LSP (label switch path). PE router have MP-BGP and also MPLS. Before MPLS established, need IGP to communicate P-P, P-PE, and PE-PE.
- CE router is customer edge. Just like normal router. It will connect to PE. To communicate to PE, need IGP or BGP.
There are some command need to add in basic MPLS:
1. vrf
2. rd
3. route target
4. MP-BGP
Here step by step to activate MPLS:
1. Activate IGP inside P and PE. All P and PE must communicate each other
2. Activate BGP between PE
3. Activate MPLS in interface P-PE, P-P, and PE-PE
4. Create VRF in PE router
5. Put VRF in interface PE that going to CE. Add command 'ip vrf xxx' in global config
6. Activate MP-BGP between PE. add command 'address-family vpnv4' inside BGP routing
7. Add routing between PE-CE
Let's move to Multicast. Multicast is transferring traffic from one to many.
Multicast routing has:
1. Dense mode
2. Sparse Mode
3. Sparse-Dense Mode
